The First Annual Intercollegiate Lindy Cup is a Jack & Jill contest open only to college students. The judges for this competition are top of the notch pro-Lindy Hoppers and the entry fee is only $5. This year, we joined forces with the USC Dance Club. They will be hosting a Jack and Jill preliminary contest two weeks earlier than Swing Jam at their USC Swing Dance Challenge on Sunday April 13th. The USC and the Claremont contests will make up the 1st Socal Intercollegiate Swing Cup!
There will be medals for the top three leads and follows in each Jack and Jill contests, trophies for the overall best lead, follow and school in both the contests and fantastic prizes, such as passes to Inspiration Weekend donated by our generous sponsors. The prizes will be assigned based on the final ranking in the two contests. Note that it is not mandatory to compete in both the contests. As long as one enters the finals in one of the two Jack and Jills, he/she will gain points for the cup. From a strictly mathematical point of view, one may still win the cup by enetering and winning only one Jack and Jill. However, participation to both the contests will increase the chances to get a better placement in the final rankings. For more details about the ranking mechanism of the SoCal Intercollegiate Swing Cup, please see our breakdown below.
